Governor Adamu At Loko, Lunches Campaign For Re-Election.

Governor Abdullahi Adamu has lunched the campaign for his re-election into the Government House in[Image] Lafia. This he did in the ancient town of Loko on Monday, March 31, 2003. With the formal lunching of the campaign, the race for the exalted position of Governor of Nasarawa state has commenced in earnest.

Speaking to the mammoth crowd which gathered to receive him in Loko, Governor Adamu urged them to reflect on the many achievements of his administration since its inception and cast their votes for him and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party. Governor Adamu reminded the people of all the promises he made to them before the last elections, reminding them that he had fulfilled all of them. These promises included the construction of the Nasarawa-Loko road and the creation of a local government for them.

On his agenda for the new mandate if given, Governor Adamu stated that he was seeking re-election to consolidate on the gains of his first tenure. He promised to bring government closer to the people by[Image] sighting various developmental projects for them. He told the people that a PDP administration was the only hope for the toiling people of Nigeria and urged them not to be deceived by anybody into voting other parties.

In the campaign train of Governor Adamu were his running mate, Labaran Maku as well as other PDP aspirants for the zone. These are Senator Abubakar Sodangi; Representative Samuel Egya and Mallam Danladi for the state house of Assembly.

Earlier on arrival, the Governor had paid a courtesy call on the traditional ruler of Loko where he was welcomed warmly. The Sarkin Loko used the occasion to pray for the success of Governor Adamu’s re-election bid as well as ask for some developmental projects for his people.[Image]

All the big politicians in the state are on Governor Adamu’s entourage for the campaigns. The campaign team will visit all the local government areas and continue till April 10, 2003.
