Udege Council Area Receives Governor Adamu’s Campaign Team

Wednesday, April 02, 2003

It was a carnival situation as Governor Adamu arrived Mararaban Udege, headquarters of the Udege[Image] local council in continuation of his re-election campaign. The people who had waited anxiously for the Governor to arrive from the Loko, broke into spontaneous songs of joy and solidarity when they sighted the Governor’s convoy.

Parading an unprecedented crowd, the people of the local government came from all nooks and crannies of the local council to welcome the Peoples Democratic Party candidates to the area. For upwards of thirty minutes, the Governor could not [Image]alight from his car as the jubilant crowd surrounded his vehicle. They sang and danced to the admiration of all that were gathered.

The Governor in his address to the people reminded them that it was his administration that gave them self-actualization when he created the local government for them. He also told them that the Federal government was now constructing the hitherto abandoned road. Pipe borne water was also part of their[Image] democracy dividends. Governor Adamu promised to build a general hospital for the people if re-elected as well as construct the Mararaban-Udege road. He also promised to  ensure that the town was electrified.

In separate addresses, the Party Chairman for Nasarawa state as well as other aspirants promised a fair deal for the people.

In response to the speeches, the people pledged their total and absolute support to the PDP and promised a 100% return vote for the party at the elections scheduled for Mid-April.

The campaigns continue daily till the 10th of April.
