Governor Adamu Hosts Vision Africa Team

A team from the United States of America, under the auspices of Vision Africa, has visited Governor Abdullahi Adamu. The team was headed by Pastor Mark Craig and coordinated by Rev. (Dr.) Sunday Onuoha, the Special Assistant to the President on Privatization.

During the visit, Pastor Craig delivered the compliments of President George Bush and other top politicians who are members of the church to Governor Adamu. He said the team was in Nigeria to see first hand, the areas of need so that they could intervene in such areas. He said they were a church of over 12,000 worshipping members and could assist in the areas of health, poverty reduction and education. The team was composed of experts in various areas of specialization who are visiting Africa for a hands-on experience of the needs of the African continent.

In his response, Governor Adamu said he was grateful to the team for considering Nasarawa state as one of the states to be visited by the team. He stated that Nasarawa state was composed of people of various ethno-religious groups who were living in harmony with each other. He described the various development policies of his administration in the areas of industrialization, education and poverty reduction.

As part of the team’s rendezvous in Nasarawa state, they visited the palace of the traditional ruler of Keffi, called the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Chindo Yamusa II. At the palace, the visitors were treated to traditional Nigerian cultural music as well as given hats and shepherds sticks to depict traditional Fulani attire.

The team has since returned to the USA.
