Governor Adamu Commends Iranian Role In International Politics

Governor Abdullahi Adamu has commended the leading role of Iran in international politics. Governor Adamu made this commendation when the outgoing Iranian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr. Javad Torkabidi paid him a courtesy call in Lafia.

Governor Adamu said that Nigeria and Iran had come a long way in bi-lateral relations and was sure that both countries were going to reap the benefits of the relations. He thanked Ambassador Torkabidi for his excellent work in establishing a good rapport between both countries.

On Iranian standoff with some western powers, Governor Adamu urged for restraint on both sides arguing that dialogue was the best way to solve international disputes. He therefore urged international bodies to understand the Iranian position for the sake of international understanding.

Earlier, Ambassador Torkabidi praised Governor Adamu’s role in Nigerian politics saying he had followed closely his contributions to Nigerian peace and unity. He therefore formally informed Governor Adamu of the end of his tour of duty to Nigeria. In invited Governor Adamu to visit Iran.
