Transport Workers Pledge Support For Governor Adamu

Monday, December 02, 2002

[Image]Members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Nasarawa State have pledged their support for the administration of Governor Adamu. They made this known while on a courtesy visit to Governor Adamu at Government House Lafia. They stated that without doubt, every part of the state had witnessed concrete development in various forms and shades.

The creation of political and administrative units, according to the union, gladdened the hearts of the people as they openly exhibited their joy. The Union was also not left out as the government assisted them in the construction of a befitting office complex and six stores for hire.

[Image]Responding, Governor Adamu thanked the union for bringing peace and stability to their affairs. He was delighted that all the problems that bedeviled the union at the commencement of this administration have now been fully solved. He promised to build a motor park at Karu as well as look into the request to provide the union with a van. He urged them to continue to keep the peace as well as educate their members on the virtues of good driving habits.
