Nasarawa Muslims Pay Sallah Homage to Governor Adamu

[Image]The Muslim community in Nasarawa state under the auspices of the JNI has paid the traditional sallah homage on Governor Abdullahi Adamu. Led by the Emir of Lafia, the visit was organized as a show of solidarity to the government and to jointly thank God for the seeing them through the one-month Ramadan period.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Adamu stated that religion should be used as a uniting force for the generality of the people. He urged all Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons of the Ramadan which is to sacrifice for the greater good of humanity. He traced the history of the courtesy calls to the colonial days and urged all gathered to always pray for those in authority. Religion, according to Governor Adamu is one instrument that can be used for the development of the nation and as such, should be practiced with all seriousness.

[Image]Speaking earlier, the Emir of Lafia praised God for seeing all Muslims in the state through the one-month fasting period and urged them to always be close to God in all their endeavours. He praised the administration of Governor Adamu for all it had done to bring development to the state saying the last visit of President Obasanjo has shown to all the various projects executed by the administration. He reaffirmed the support of the people to Governor Adamu and prayed that God will see him through the forthcoming elections. 

A large contingent of Muslims for across the state joined the Emir on the visit which took place at Government House Lafia.
