Governor Adamu Convocates With A Doctorate In Law

[Image]Governor Adamu now wears a new title. He is henceforth to be addressed as Alhaji (Dr.) Abdullahi Adamu. This is the result of the conferment of a honourary doctorate degree on him by authorities of the Rivers State University of Technology over the weekend.

In a well-attended convocation, the authorities said they were conferring the degree on him as a result of his enormous contributions to national development. In the citation read by the University orator, Governor Adamu’s contributions in politics, engineering, socio-economic development were all highlighted.

[Image]The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Simeon Achinewhu in an address at the convocation ceremony congratulated Governor Adamu for being one of the honourary graduands of the University and conferred all the privileges on him.

Rivers state Governor, Peter Odili said the role of Governor Adamu in National politics have made him an indispensable force in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party. He praised Governor Adamu’s role in national crisis resolution and in the Governor’s forum where he is Chairman.

[Image]In an address after the dressing ceremony, Governor Adamu thanked the authorities of the University for considering him fit to wear the Dr. title after his name. His speech touched on a number of National issues including the current ASUU strike.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Speaker, House of Assembly, State Executive Council Members, top politicians and civil servants led a large delegation of Nasarawa people to the ceremonies.
