[Image]Three more local government areas on Wednesday received the campaign team of Governor Abdullahi Adamu in continuation of his tour of all the nooks and crannies of the state. The campaign team visited Karu, Karshi and Panda local government areas.

The tour started at the Karu Palace Square where Governor Adamu’s first engagement was the installation of the Esu Karu as a first class traditional ruler. On the occasion, he thanked the Gbagyi people for their support to his administration and pledged to ensure the full development of the Karu area. He assured the people that if voted back to power, he would make the Karu area a model economic zone for the state. Governor Adamu also used the occasion to call on traditional rulers to monitor their people and ensure that the forthcoming elections were held in peace in their domains.

He told them not to be swayed by any act of blackmail, but to ensure that they were part of the winning team. All the speakers at the venue extolled the people of the local government and assured them that a PDP government will ensure development for their domain.

From Karu, the campaign team moved to Karshi local area. The campaign team started the tour by paying a courtesy call on the Sarkin Karshi, Alhaji Mohammed Bako II, who warmly welcomed the team to his palace. He assured Governor Adamu of the unflinching support of his people in the forthcoming elections. He requested the creation of a new local government area in his domain as well as the upgrading of some district heads. At the palace, Governor Adamu pledged his respect for the traditional institution and committed himself to the upholding of cultural norms.

He took time to educate the people on the virtues of unity in diversity. He warned the people to be careful when voting in the next elections because there were some undemocratic individuals who were busy using religion and ethnicity to promote their candidacy. We said the Peoples Democratic Party was the only party that had internal mechanism for accommodating all the diverse interests in Nigeria. He informed the people that they should never toy with the destiny of this country by voting those who will not promote democracy.

Panda local area was the last to be visited by the team for the day. As in other places, the team paid a courtesy call on the traditional ruler of the area, the Odyong Nyankpa, Barrister Azinge. The traditional ruler also pledged the support of his people for the reelection bid of the governor and wished him well.

At the rally to launch his re-election bid in the local area, Governor Adamu to the admiration of the people, announced the immediate conversion of the secondary school in the town to a full boarding school and also the upgrading of the cottage hospital to a full fledged general hospital. He assured the people that the PDP government if voted into power would improve on its developmental strategies as well as give attention to the welfare of the people.

The campaign tour continues on Thursday to more local areas.
