Campaign Tour In Kokona, Agwada and Keffi Local Areas

The on-going statewide campaign tour of Governor Abdullahi Adamu has moved on to three more local government areas. Next to take their turn in receiving the team where Kokona, Agwada and Keffi local government areas. These local areas that could be described as the home area of the Governor proved to be a fitting cap to the end of the tour to the Western senatorial zone.

[Image]The tour which started from the Kokona local area saw the Governor and his team been received by an overwhelming crowd of supporters. At Garaku the headquarters of the local area, Governor Adamu commended the tumultuous crowd for the reception accorded him and the team. He reminded them of the various projects which has been sited in their zone to develop it. He told them that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was the only one determined to ensure the full rounded development of the country and state. As a welfarist party, the PDP was committed to rural development and the unity of Nigeria. He assured them that the party would never promote any sentiments that will divide the country and therefore urged them to vote for all the party candidates at the elections. Speakers at the rally included the Party Chairman, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed (Marafan Daddere), Mr. Salomon Ewuga, Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state and Former Minister of State in the FCT and Mr. Anthony Sani, a prominent politician in the area. As in all other areas so far visited, Governor Adamu commenced his visit to the Kokona with a courtesy call on the traditional ruler of the area, the Abaga Toni, Mr. Sylvester Ayih where he received royal blessing for the elections.

[Image]Next to be visited was the Agwada local area. This is the home local government of Governor Adamu. The first port of call during the visit here was the Palace of the traditional ruler of the area. The traditional ruler thanked the team of people which accompanied the governor to the area and assured them of the support of his people for the team. At the rally held at the city square, Governor Adamu advised the people to vote for the PDP because of the rural based development agenda of the party. He urged the people to eschew violence and be united for the development of the area. He reminded them that the whole state was looking up to them to show the way by the solidarity they gave to their son.

Keffi local government area was the final stop for the day. The crowd which gathered at Keffi was overwhelming as the people came out to welcome the Sarkin Yakin Keffi home. The rally here was a carnival of a sort, as the people requested that they just be allowed to dance out the evening. They told the campaign team that there was no need to say anything as they had already made up their minds to give the team their 100% support. As in other areas, the team commenced the visit by a courtesy call on the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Chindo Yamusa II. The Emir commended the governor for the development brought about by his government in the last four years. He also commended the PDP for the unity in the party and urged them to keep the trend. He assured the team of the total support of his domain for the re-election bid of the Governor and in a rare display of royal blessing, personally presented Governor Adamu to the people, asking them to support him at the polls.

The campaign team now moves to the Nasarawa North senatorial district.
