Campaign Team Arrives Farin-Ruwa and Wamba Council Areas

[Image]The Abdullahi Adamu re-election campaign has continued to draw unprecedented crowds as it moves across the length and breath of the state. This time the team has arrived in Farin-Ruwa and Wamba local government areas.

The team first visited Farin-Ruwa where the campaign rally was preceded by the installation of the traditional ruler of the area, the Gom Mama, Alhaji Umaru Isa. Speaking at the occasion, the governor called on all traditional rulers in the state to brace up to face the challenges of the new dispensation in which governments were elected democratically. He said democracy was all about choice and this should not bring about disunity in any area.

[Image]After the installation ceremony, the campaign rally took off. Speaking at the occasion, governor Adamu urged the people to be conscious of those who came to deceive them with empty promises. He said the PDP, with its umbrella symbol, was the party for all people. He said the party was the one with the greatest following in the country and urged them not to be left out. After enumerating the achievements of his administration in the area, Governor Adamu told the people to ensure that they voted massively for the PDP, as it will earn them democracy dividends. Other speakers at the rally included the local government party chairman and the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed (Marafan Deddere).

From Farin-Ruwa, the campaign team moved to Wamba council area fro the same purpose. On arrival at Wamba, the Governor paid his usual courtesy call on the traditional ruler of the area. This time it was the Oriye Rindre, Alhaji Musa Nagogo Ibrahim. At the Palace, the Governor formally informed the Oriye that he was in Wamba to solicit the support of the people for his re-election bid. The traditional ruler wished him well and prayed that the governor will be returned to office after the elections.

At the rally held after the call, the governor once again urged the people to vote massively for all the Peoples Democratic Party candidates during the forth-coming elections. He said the nation will be eternally grateful to them if they voted for good governance and accountability, virtues for which the PDP are known for. He said the umbrella of the PDP was big enough for everybody and hoped that the Wamba be will join the rest of the nation in voting for the party candidates.

Speakers at the rally included the deputy-governor of the state, Prof. Onje Gye-Wado and Mr. Emmanuel Elayo, (Turakin Keana). The large delegation of PDP supporters who have been following the governor on the campaign team where represented at the rallies. The campaign tour continues.
