Overwhelming Crowds Welcome Governor Adamu Into Agidi and Nasarawa-Eggon Council Areas

[Image]In a show of unprecedented support for the re-election efforts of Governor Abdullahi Adamu, overwhelming crowds have gathered to welcome the campaign team into Agidi and Nasarawa Eggon local government areas. The tour is in continuation of his campaign for re-election into the office of Governor of Nasarawa state.

The crowds which lined the roads throughout the two local government areas where singing and dancing as the governor’s team moved from one settlement to the other. As in other places that the team has visited, the Governor started the visits to these council areas with visits to their traditional rulers.

[Image]At both the Palaces of the Aren Eggon (Nasarawa Eggon) and Aren Angbashu (Agidi), the Governor thanked the traditional rulers for the support given to the administration in the past four years. He said he was seeking re-election into the office because the people of Nasarawa state wanted it so and he had seen an indication of this with the reception accorded him throughout the period of his visit to various local government areas. The Governor sought the support of the traditional rulers in his re-election bid promising to continue in his selfless service if given the opportunity.

[Image]The campaign proper took place in Mada Station for Agidi local government area and Nasarawa-Eggon for Nasarawa Eggon local government areas. In both places, the rallies were a kind of carnival as the people exhibited their support for the governor in various forms. There were dances, drumming and singing all hailing the administration of Governor Adamu. Addressing the teeming crowds of supporters, Governor Adamu thanked them for the support. He recalled the various completed and on-going projects in the areas and told the crowds that he was seeking their support to complete the work of laying a solid foundation for the development of Nasarawa state.

The Governor also took time to educate the voters on the voting patterns on the day of the elections. He told them to look out for the umbrella that was the symbol of the people’s democratic party. Various candidates seeking elections on the banner of the party were presented to the people.

Various big wigs in Nasarawa politics have continued to follow the Governor round the local government areas. The tour continues.
