Akwanga West, Akwanga Central and Akun Areas Host Governor Adamu’s Campaign Team

Saturday, April 05, 2003

[Image]It was the turn of three more local government areas to receive Governor Adamu today on his campaign tour. Those that received him were Akwanga West with headquarters at Rinze; Akwanga Central with headquarters at Akwanga and Akun with headquarters at Akpata. This was the beginning of the tour to the Nasarawa North Senatorial district.

The tour, which commenced in the morning, lasted till late in the evening. As is now traditional with the tour, a large delegation of party faithfuls accompanied the Governor to all of these local areas. And in each of them, the crowds that waited to receive the governor were overwhelming.

[Image]Addressing the crowds whose tempo was always raised to a crescendo with dancing and drumming, Governor Adamu reminded all of them of the social contract the party has with the people of Nigeria. Governor Adamu reminded them of the fulfilled promises of the last elections saying the party was poised to fully develop the rural areas of the state.

In a pointed reference to his administrations achievements, he told the people of the administrations achievements in the area of education, road construction, potable water schemes, electricity and health. He said the rate of development witnessed in the state over the past four years was much more than all the time that the areas had existed. He therefore urged the people to vote massively for the PDP at the polls.

Many party faithfuls including Mr. Solomon Ewuga, Mr. Emmanuel Elayo and the party chairman, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed (Marafan Deddere) spoke at the party rallies. They all urged the people to vote for the PDP at all the elections.

The campaign tour of the Northern Senatorial district continues.
