Governor Adamu In Five Council Areas As Campaign Comes To A Close

Thursday, April 10, 2003

The campaign team of Governor Adamu rounded up the tour of local governments today with visits to Giza, Obi, Lafia East, Lafia North and Lafia Central areas. It was a satisfying end to a grueling campaign tour that saw the Governor visit all the 29 local areas in the state. Today’s tour was to round up the campaigns as the electoral law disallows any form of campaign 24 hours to the elections.

[Image][Image]The overwhelming show of support for Governor Adamu continued in the local governments visited as huge crowds gathered both at the rally venues and on the roads leading to the venues. It was one of the most outstanding days, as the campaign team could almost smell victory going by the popular support it enjoyed from the people.

[Image]In line with the campaign programme, the governor addressed rallies in all the council areas where he recalled the achievements of his administration and urged them to vote for all candidates of the PDP. He promised them that the PDP government at all levels would care for the welfare and ensure better living standards for them. He said if re-elected, his government would concentrate on rural development and provision of health services.

Prominent party loyalists as well indigenes of the state continue to accompany Governor Adamu on the tour. The first in the series of elections will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2003.
