Governor Adamu Wins In Nasarawa State

[Image]Governor Abdullahi Adamu has won a resounding victory at the 2003 gubernatorial elections in Nasarawa state. He beat all the other contestants in the elections by scoring 505,893 votes. Announcing the results of the elections Sunday evening in Lafia, the electoral commissioner for the state, Rowland Uwa said Governor Adamu had satisfied all the requirements of the law to be declared victorious at the polls.

With this victory, the Governor will be at the helm of affairs in the state for the next four years. Governor Adamu who has worked very hard for the victory was thankful to God for the support the people of the state have given to him these past four years.

[Image]Figures released by the electoral commission showed that Governor Adamu scored majority votes in all the 13 local councils in the state. Consequently, the electoral commissioner said "I have no reservation in saying that the candidate of the PDP, Abdullahi Adamu that polled 505,893, has at least an average of more than 60% across more than 12 local councils in the state is the winner of the gubernatorial election in Nasarawa state.

Already, crowds of supporters have started to throng the country home of Governor Adamu at Keffi to congratulate him.
