At a ceremony that drew an un-precedented crowd to the Lafia stadium, Governor Abdullahi Adamu has taken the oath of office to commence a second four-year term as Governor of Nasarawa state. The oath taking ceremony was part of the activities marking the formal inauguration of the governor for his second tenure.

The ceremony, which commenced at about 9.00am in the morning, also saw the swearing into office of a new deputy governor, Mr. Labaran Maku who joins the team in that office for the next four years.

In a speech at the occasion, Governor Adamu called on all citizens of Nasarawa state to join hands in building the state towards economic prosperity. He gave an insight into the five point agenda that will be the focus of his second tenure. These priority areas include the completion of on-going projects; rural development; increased food and cash crop production; community self-help and re-focussing the intellectual energy of youth towards self-pride, self-development and self-actualisation.
