Governor Adamu Receives Health Service Report

[Image]A report of the assessment of health facilities in Nasarawa state undertaken by Adams and Associates of the USA has been submitted to Governor Abdullahi Adamu in Lafia. Receiving the report, Governor Adamu said his administration was committed to ensuring that the people of the state enjoyed qualitative health services.

Governor Adamu used the occasion to give a pip into his agenda for the health sector during his current tenure. He noted that the programme would start with a refurbishment of existing facilities while at the same time opening up new state of the art facilities. He said at the end of the programme, the state would have been able to ensure that almost all citizens of the state would have access to the best health facilities in the country at affordable costs. He also said that the upgrading of the health facilities would involve the training of manpower and an online interactive system of communication.

[Image]The Governor thanked the firm of Adams and Associates for undertaking a very comprehensive study of existing facilities and recommending actions to be taken towards realizing the goals of the state. He said the government would study the recommendations and commence practical actions towards implementing them.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the team of consultants who undertook the study, Susan Adams thanked the Governor for [Image]giving them the opportunity to undertake the study and said they found it extremely satisfying. She said Nasarawa state had the potential to offer the best health facilities for its people if their recommendations were implemented. She thanked all the people of the state who assisted them in the preparation of their report.

The state deputy-governor, Labaran Maku and Juan E. Ponce, President of Ponmas Corporation were in attendance at the presentation of the report.
