Democracy Thrives on the Rule of Law and Order

Governor Abdullahi Adamu has said that democracy thrives best when the rule of law and order is institutionalized. The Governor was speaking at two different occasions today when the General Officer Commanding 3rd Armoured Division, Jos and the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 4, paid courtesy calls on him.

Governor Adamu said for democracy to take root in Nigeria, the people must be ready to be law abiding and cooperative with law enforcement agencies in the conduct of their duties. Governor Adamu commended men and officers of the security agencies for the exemplary role they played in the restoration of law and order in Toto local government area which had been bedeviled by crisis over the past few years. He also commended them for maintaining order in the state during the recently conducted general elections.

Turning to their various operational briefs, Governor Adamu expressed satisfaction with the officers of the commands for a most credible performance. He referred specifically the success of "Operation Flush" which has served to curb armed robbery in the highways of the state. he therefore urged them not to rest on their oars in their determination to totally eliminate crime in the state.

Responding separately during the courtesy calls, both the GOC and AIG commended Governor Adamu for the developmental strides which he has achieved in the state. They commended the high level of cooperation existing between the security agencies and the government, pledging to do their best to fulfill their professional calls in the state.
