Governor Adamu Tasks Communities on Self-Help Projects

Thursday, September 04, 2003

Communities in Nasarawa state have been urged to embrace the culture of self-help projects instead of wholly depending on government for their developmental needs. Governor Abdullahi Adamu made this call while addressing elders from three different communities in Lafia. He said it was not possible for government to satisfy the yearnings of all communities, thus it was necessary for them to supplement government efforts.

The communities, which called on Governor Adamu, were those of the Gbagyi Youth Association, Jenkwe community and the Kadarko community. In all the occasions, Governor Adamu urged them to ensure that they support the government in all their activities, promising that government will definitely reward loyalty.

Expounding on his administrations agenda during the second tenure, Governor Adamu stated that his government would pursue people oriented programmes in the fields of health, education and agriculture. He said these area the areas that touched the people directly and will therefore benefit the electorate.
